Isaiah 55:6 Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.
Prayer is an essential tool for every Christ follower to develop and incorporate into their daily walk. It’s the way we communication with the God who spoke the entire world into existence. WOW… just think about that for a second…the God of the universe cares about the details of my circumstances. Mind blowing isn’t it? With everything going on in the world you would think He would have more important things to pay attention to than the details of my day. But the daily reading of His word I’m reminded that He does care and He wants very deeply for me (and you) to know Him the way that He knows me.
When I first started to follow Christ as an adult, I found myself praying more for help from him than anything else. Sometimes all I could manage to get out was “God help…please.” Have you ever felt like that?
The truth is – we can talk to God just like we talk to one of our friends or family members during the good and bad times of our day. My prayer life has grown so much stronger over the past few years and God has moved in miraculous ways in my life. My prayer time now is not confined to one time and one place; I talk to God throughout the day. It’s just me and Him facing the day together.

Through this type of communication, I have become more thankful for the little things He has given me. I praise Him throughout the day for the beauty I see around me. I also pray for people I don’t even know in the cars beside me as I drive or those standing in line at the grocery store.
The next time you have a decision to make or you’re having a bad day, instead of reaching for the phone to unload on a friend, spend some time just talking to Jesus. He is a friend like no other. He will never put you on hold or have to “call you back” because one of the kids flushed something down the toilet or the dog just chewed up your favorite throw pillow. He is always available and always has the right answer… it might not be the answer or in the timing you think want…but remember He sees the big picture of your life.
Proverbs 3:5 – 6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
