About Me & At the Hem
About Me:
Thanks for visiting my page. My name is Sheri Neuhofer and I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia with my husband Jeff and our son, Nikolas. As a freelance writer, I have a deep passion to share the hope and healing I’ve found in Jesus Christ through short stories, and the devotions I write.
About At the Hem:
“Find Hope @ The Hem” is a devotional blog for anyone seeking a closer, more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. My prayer is for readers to find hope, healing, inspiration, and encouragement for the day ahead through scripture and the practical application of God’s word.
The name “At the Hem” comes from one of my favorite Bible stories of all time, the woman with the issue of blood. Her story is found in 3 of the 4 gospels (Matthew 9:20 – 22, Mark 5:25 – 24, and Luke 8:43 – 48). This amazing woman suffered for 12 years with her issue. Labeled unclean because of her condition, she more than likely lived a lonely life because anyone she came in contact with would have been considered unclean too (Lev. 15:25 – 27). Using every resource possible, she visited doctor after doctor in hopes of stopping the bleeding…but nothing worked.
This woman, like me, was a woman with a mission. She had heard stories about Jesus and the way he miraculously healed the blind and lame. He was the answer to her problem and he just happened to be making His way through town. Unwavering, she pushed through the crowd that day and reached out to touch the hem of his garment. In an instant, she was clean…whole…new…productive. Her faith catapulted her to experience firsthand the power of Jesus Christ.
Jesus still heals in miraculous ways today. Won’t you join me as I sit “at the hem” of Christ’s garment? I promise you will find hope and healing there.
